Why are sober ppl like that? : Anonymous : 17 days ago : No.9816

Every sober guy I've ever met falls into one of two categories: 1. Anxious, intelligent, paranoid younger guy. Probably was never really an alcoholic, just had trouble cutting down one time and got freaked out. Quick to diagnose their friends with alcoholism but otherwise chill. Either vegan or "yeah I honestly think it's the morally correct choice but I just haven't made the switch yet, you know". Potentially theymab 2. Insane 90iq motormouth wiggas. Either very fat or on TRT. Tattoos. Yelawolf, NF. Calls you "brotha" or "boss". Inexplicably hot wife

Funny, I made a somewhat similar post about straightedgers here a while ago. I guess we share our fascination with this strain of subculture

>>9855 probably the same reason anyone else drinks, removes inhibitions + feel good. i almost fell into being in the first group, but i stopped myself.
I had to go to a halfway house. for the second group it's lack of exposure to arts/culture as children and a main character complex that seems unique to them since they dont read books (unless self-help). first group happens due to lack of exposure to the second group, driven by an unconscious drive to "optimize" probably a PMCer with too much anxiety to succeed in the otherwise psychopathic corporate world. I was an opioid addict so I dont really know what drives people to drink in either of these groups, though the second group is more likely to do opioids

also the second group is way more likely to succeed in AA, these dudes run the culture there and seem to actually benefit from the book bc they let it be vague and not literal, first group fails at this and will have perpetual victimhood bc of it
