Any koreader enjoyers here? I'm running a PW3 Kindle on 5.9.x firmware but the earliest FW included within the jailbreak .zip is 5.12 so uhhhh what am I supposed to transfer over as far as that goes? The instructions say to grab the exact FW you're using but there is only 5.12-5.14, and that goes for all Kindle FW files within the zip. Any advice? >WTF is koreader? It is custom firmware for e-readers that improves upon many things such as a Kindle's slow speed. >Why don't you ask on their website? I never got the registration verification email on their forum when I signed up so here I am.

First time I'm hearing of koreader. I've been reading on a bricked e-reader (the shameless bandits managing Kobo pushed an update that disabled the USB connection) thanks to an online trick from some Swedish guy: https://send.djazz.se/ If I understand how to, I might try koreader out, but I can't help you OP.

Hi OP, I'm a big KOreader user on multiple platforms, including a PW2 Kindle. I highly recommend posting on the main Watch This jailbreak thread on Mobileread Forums: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?s=8a795bd1b1a5ccf6e5f22b3a3f09c281&t=346037 I do not have time to read through all 70 pages of the thread, but on the third page someone mentioned it working with a 5.9 Kindle: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?s=8a795bd1b1a5ccf6e5f22b3a3f09c281&p=4213995#post4213995 I am not a Kindle hack developer, but I believe the versions are explicitly listed as such because they are the maximum allowed versions before Amazon patched that particular exploit. I think you *should* be safe installing the jailbreak you downloaded. It IS possible to manually update the firmware to that more well-known version, as a user recommended to another in the same thread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?s=8a795bd1b1a5ccf6e5f22b3a3f09c281&p=4217003#post4217003 It must not be a terribly difficult process if manual upgrading is suggested that simply. And I'm sure you know this, but do not ever connect to wifi, unless you can block the device's calls to Amazon HQ. Let me know how it goes, I have already modded mine but maybe there is more I might be able to help you with. Good luck anon.

Only the most chill, intelligent, and good looking people use KOreader

Shoutout to the person that told me you could get a Kindle for like $3 on unclaimedbaggage. Jailbroke it, threw KOReader on, and have just been pirating epubs off lib-gen for 3 years.

I'm desperate for an ebook sync platform I can use everywhere. I'd like to open my work laptop or my home desktop or my phone or my kindle and open any book in my library to whatever spot I was last at. Such a thing surely must exist. I can self-host
