Yes.
No, I don't have invite privileges.

Lmao, fucking zoomers man
If you want an actual writing group, you'll need an obscure forum, IRC channel or (since you're a zoom zoom) a private Telegram group

got an idea for a novel lately that put my main one on back burner, was interested to see if i can get some feedback for it, i suppose this board can do the same function as a discord server

any advice on the alternative? i don't particularly like to associate myself with other writers and "culture" people IRL
Discord is corrosive as nine hells, both spiritually and in terms of living healthy life in general, i advice you get out as soon as that starts settling in without delay.

Scribophile used to be good, allegedly. Otherwise, I don't really have any. Precious few forums endured having their cake eaten by trinity of discord/facebook/plebbit, and I certainly don't know any writing-oriented one. lit.salon, maybe? But it's not teeming with activity either. /lit/ has a writing general, but I am unable to attest how worthwhile it is (likely not very!).
I know this is all remarkably unhelpful, but I do find myself firmly believing that I live far healthier (if still very distracted) life after deleting discord.

all good, dont sweat it. so what do you do to get feedback? i got a couple of mates and gf to read my stuff but none of them are writers or heavy readers (aside from one) and I feel like i need a bit more.
my last published short story flopped big time, and after rereading it, i dont wonder why anymore.

Wanting to improve your writing by going on Discord is like wanting to improve your swimming lap time by sitting in a sandbox. It is too late for you
The head of petrachan spends some time here or at least had a channel dedicated for work on the zine. It originally began as the headquarters for Unreal Press who ran and run a Weird Fiction magazine as well as a substack for essays and criticism. A bit quieter now but still some very literate and well read people around. Occasionally they do group reads or workshops.

Yeah, no total anonymity with this one, everyone is forced into trust. It'd need a central person with a p/o box at least.

We should do a paper lit group. I'm sure printing and paying for stamps would force everyone to do better (both writing and critiquing).

yeah a PO box would work. a shared email adress might do it for the time being. You interested? we could set up a gmail account and use its google drive or something to post our work
