Good rabbit holes? : Anonymous : 21 days ago : No.6489

I enjoyed reading through that Pizzagate thread on the rsp sub the other day. Even though it was all bullshit, it was fun to read that substack that piled on all the evidence, piece by piece. Anything else like that?

If you have rabbits in your garden, I'm pretty sure they can produce some more rabbitholes for you to consume.

not really a rabbit hole in the traditional sense, but this bonsai guy's blog is fun to go through as someone who is vaguely into bonsai: https://adamaskwhy.com/ he has a great sense of humor and writes so that the layman can feel like they understand what's going on

If you can't do this with any old Wikipedia article, you're cooked.

The entire pseudcast oeuvre is on archive.org: <https://archive.org/details/pseudcast-april2023>. If you skip past the numbered episodes when Kantbot is trying to work with the "Trump will compete the system of German Idealism" crowd / ethos, you can get to the multi-hour episodes he made with Ed Berger. If you can take it on its own terms, if you can get up to speed with KB on his references to classical modern philosophy, then it's solid gold. Those guys create some really original takes on conspiracy theories in the episodes starting with bracketed numbers in the [40000000] range, starting with JFK, then Watergate and Iran Contra. I will warn you, though, the Political Economy episode is a really rough listen.

>>6502 Starting with Dutroux? OP always said that Pizzagate was "all bullshit"; there's no way he's going to educate himself about Dutroux in any good faith.
The Dutroux affair, the Brabant killers, 9/11 ritualistic symbolism, Sirius, Horus, the Franklin scandal, the finders (pretty well-known but a lot of the more deep shit around them isn’t), the Epstein-Virgin islands/JPMorgan connection (look up the lawsuit there’s a ton of interesting files there), ancient Chinese Ethiopian and Sudanese history, the truth about Watergate, and a lot more you can find if you lurk moar.

Right. So anyway, I recommend Pseudcast not because it's going to give you social capital or timely conversational fodder -- but then again, will Pizzagate? I recommend Pseudcast because it's a rabbit hole full of rabbit holes. There's lots of critical commentary based on German post-Enlightenment thought and later on German media theory (esp. Kittler). There's lots of Marxist political economy and edberg is clearer on the podcast and in dialogue than he is in writing. There's lots of whacko outsider theories, too, like the abiotic theory of oil or like Fletcher Prouty's hermeneutics for FOIA material. The pseuds are clearly riffing from LaRouchites at some points, but that's OK if you know how to brush off the rotten bits.

I said Pizzagate was bullshit because it obviously is. Like many stupid conspiracy theories, it values quantity of evidence over quality. No sense of ranking arguments from strongest to weakest. It doesn't say, "whatever else you might think, at least try to explain THIS." It just piles on infinite low-grade sensationalist slop, hoping people will be credulous enough to be overwhelmed. I'd love a Pizzagate true believer to tell me the most compelling piece of evidence that they believe supports the theory.

Not "explain A and B and C and D and X and Y and Z" but: explain this one central thing that contains the whole alphabet

Here's where I land on Pizzagate: tl;dr I think a lot of the strong claims can be clawed back into moderate claims and the sum total is still really bad. 1. There are definitely pedos who are protected by a variety of institutions, including but not limited to politics, media, and economics. I suspect that we don't hear nearly as much about unfamous-rich-guy sex-crimes as we ought to. 2. While it's possible that the pedos look out for each other, it will rarely be the case that stable relationships of trust form among elites based on covert complicity. Sure, they get away with crimes together, but I think that those things tend to be emergent affinities and rarely develop into stable patterns. Inasmuch as you do see stable patterns of mutual protection based on covert complicity, it resembles what you see in corrupt police departments and intelligence services: lots of damage, lots of obstruction, but somehow neither the damage nor the obstruction ever gets a face or a name attached to it. It's all little grey men obfuscating and dissipating accountability. 3. The visible elites are basically just the mascots of this for the hoi polloi. Inasmuch as they let their freak flags fly, they do so in controlled grey-areas, with plausible backstops for legal exposure. For instance, look at all the whacky alternatives Bill Clinton used to avoid penetrative PiV sex. He was clearly operating according to some kind of lawyerly dodge -- probably based on some weasel-logic about the definition of rape. Powerful personalities are thin-skinned, suspicious, and isolated. They fear the fall more than they enjoy the heights they have climbed. 4. Most sex trafficking is of one uncharismatic type or another: people who are already addicts, prostitutes, criminals, etc. The amount of mental illness is likely hard to even describe. 5. John Podesta was probably using coded emails to arrange some combination of electoral fraud, drug dealing, prostitution, non-prostituted sex stuff, and/or any combination of the above. Even if you claw back all the strong claims to even the modest claims that I described, there are still some monstrous combinations that emerge: - If there are *merely* isolated pedos being protected by institutions, and if there are victims being pulled from the most vulnerable populations, then that means that our institutions function at least sometimes as vampiric functionaries serving people who are likely homeless, addicted, etc. to fucked-up cannibal masters. - Even if John Podesta were *merely* doing drug dealing, it is likely following the sort of lawyerly dodges that are also used by intelligence services and parapolitical forces therein. And there are very likely more than a few connections between the drug-dealers of the elites and the parapolitical forces inside our institutions that run drugs.
