What the fuck?? I'm out of here. I am not posting here again.

Now I know why this place is being shitted up by retards all of a sudden who can't read more than a few words at a time, and who have nothing substantial to contribute.

I understand the apprehension but I think this won't be as bad as you're imagining. KF is a lateral and somewhat culturally-adjacent community to this one and its progenitors--dissident and countercultural, but measurably more of the reactionary variety than disillusioned/dirtbag left, and less intellectual on balance. Is KF full of weirdo assholes who are mirror images of the same people they mock? Yes, unquestionably. As someone familiar with its culture, >>5689 and >>5716 are spot-on about the general vibe of the forum. They're less measured, less nuanced, less well-adjusted, more cruel and immature. Overall they're nowhere near as bookish or intellectual on average, but still foundationally disagreeable elitist types with strong opinions (read: Judgmental snobs or wannabe aristocrats, just of a different, slightly more sadistic stripe). At the margins it contains the type of people who may fit well here, so long as they are culturally filtered via keeping the discussion highbrow and avoiding internet drama nonsense. If such people don't shit up the board, the ones who settle here instead of just passing through will probably assimilate without issue, as some definitely already have. This place isn't really interesting enough to fuck with or obsessively document.

>>5737 >>5753 >>5757 My earlier post was for the "shrill" and "melodramatic" people on this thread whose only conception of and exposure to KF is indirect and filtered more through dominant media portrayals (which are inaccurate and one-dimensional thanks to the efforts of Fong-Jones et al.). I don't think a hyperlink being posted there is as big of a deal or a risk as some are making it out to be. I have lurked the farms extensively, and learned much about OPSEC and various internet populations in my time there. It has many interesting discussions about and incisive criticisms of the dominant strains of internet culture--cruelty and immaturity of the posters notwithstanding. If one can stomach the irreverence and often crude contrarianism of KF, there is much to gain. Regardless of shared DNA, KF is different both in direction and intent compared to this community, and the fear of OP reflects that. Some KF types may integrate well into a space like this, but no one wants Eternal September. Another community giving one like this "positive attention" or an "influx of new anons" could be its death knell, if those new anons are of insufficient caliber--this is a legitimate concern. But I'm sure explaining the concept of demographic replacement to Kiwi Farm immigrants, of all people, would be redundant. Even though some KF users could fit in here, weirdos who spend their free time obsessively stalking and analyzing others who are marginally weirder than them have some screws loose, and could invite trouble, as >>5731 notes. I don't think it's healthy behavior, I eventually grew out of it. People who migrate here without having tempered their lolcow obsession might make good contributions, but they can be toxic. This is all the same person, by the way. Stop posting. Go outside. Calm down, at least a little bit. We can tell you have some autistic rage-boner for that website. You are not being subtle in any way.

Calm down; there's no reason to be upset. >>5716 >>5728 If you had even bothered to lurk on that website for at least 5 minutes, you can clearly see that the things you have written are obviously not true, or are, at the very least, greatly exaggerated. I would just embrace the fact that another community has taken positive interest in this imageboard and appreciate the influx of new anons that may or may not appear.
As someone who discovered this chan from the KF thread, I can safely say they're mostly right. I love the farms but it IS a cesspit.

I agree the tone of this thread is overly shrill. For a community that self identifies as more mature and sophisticated than the rest of the internet, posters here are pretty melodramatic.

People on the internet... post hyperlinks to other websites? These are truly the last days, I tell you!
My earlier post was for the "shrill" and "melodramatic" people on this thread whose only conception of and exposure to KF is indirect and filtered more through dominant media portrayals (which are inaccurate and one-dimensional thanks to the efforts of Fong-Jones et al.). Even though some KF users could fit in here, weirdos who spend their free time obsessively stalking and analyzing others who are marginally weirder than them have some screws loose, and could invite trouble, as >>5731
>>5728 The issue is when it does become interesting it will attract the flies and vultures like the now rotten boards did before us. One segment of their community are the soyteens who are known to raid, spam, and generally shit things up. Kiwifarms may not actively encourage raiding, but it will with a wink and a nudge cheer on its results.
notes. I don't think it's healthy behavior, I eventually grew out of it. People who migrate here without having tempered their lolcow obsession might make good contributions, but they can be toxic. But this is also an anonymous imageboard, so what else is new? Just don't shit up the board too much, at least, if you decide to stick around. Lurk moar. >>5770

>KF will dox you, your friends, and your family the moment they find even the smallest crack in your OPSEC. Emotive non-sequitur response, not a rebuttal in any way to what I said. Both can be true at the same time, and I already qualified that KF was full of immature and less well-adjusted people who would do that sort of thing. KF is equally as perceptive, twice as reductive, and a quarter as nice. I agree with >>5574, you should go outside. For your own sake, if nothing else.

Vibe shifted. I'm going to stay off PT for a while and let the KF people have their way.

let's not keep bumping this thread for the next three weeks, thanks. people are welcome on petrarchan regardless of how they find the site, provided that they make interesting and thoughtful posts that fit the vibe. that is really all that needs to be said on the matter.
