Understanding Marxism : Anonymous : 135 days ago : No.500

I've decided it's time to give up on ever getting laid again and finally get a proper handle on Marxism. Please instruct me on what to read and in what order to gain this knowledge and finally become the unbearable pseud I've always wanted to be. Dialectical materialism, materialist conception of history, critique of political economy, exchange/use value, tendency of the rate of profit to fall, etc. etc. I am prepared to read some Hegel or whatever in preparation but please don't tell me to start with the Greeks, I have only one lifetime and a day job.

These lists are useless if you're reading them on their own with no external guidance. Go to youtube and search for "Capital in History Platypus" and watch any of the videos that pop up (watch a couple of them).

some of these recommendations are decent but also make sure not to read anything by stalin, mao or any other bourgeois revolutionaries

Anonymous : 108 days ago : No.621

How is Mao bourgeois?

Anonymous : 106 days ago : No.631

>>531 Agreed. These lists are just for /lit/items to show off how many classic references they can name.

>>631 >>531 >These lists are useless if you're reading them on their own with no external guidance. The lists are external guidance and they list companion readers and other crutches to start exploring. A youtuber might help too, but it depends what is your goal.

>>633 There is no world in which reading Thucydides directly as a primary source is a crutch to reading Hegel. It's not an aid to understanding.

Anonymous : 97 days ago : No.665

>>664 I meant to say crutch to reading Marx. Pretend I'm right anyway

Anonymous : 97 days ago : No.670

>>664 You are right. Thucydides is a must read for political philosophy, that's why it is required on the "political philosophy recommended readings" pic >>501, but not on the "Marx recommended readings" pictures.

Marxism is pseudo-intellectual playtime that destroys people.

Anonymous : 82 days ago : No.721

>>717 Nah, Marx is alright

Anonymous : 82 days ago : No.725

Let's be serious.
