I think a lot of dis-ease towards life would be sublimated more productively if it weren’t for how tempting the internet is. Having a palantir has streamlined personalities in a way that seems flattening to me.

Idk, I get the impression that in 1950 if you were dissatisfied with your life you'd go down to the pool hall and start fights just for the hell of it. Or put your head in the oven. Maybe some people would collect stamps or become artists if they weren't able to scroll. Or they'd just get jobs. But I really think that we're better off entertaining our anti-social freaks to death than letting them loose on the streets.
