I’m half-convinced I’m incapable of it. I’m 27, not getting any younger, and I’ve really gotta get over this hurdle. I crave connection but something inside me just won’t let it happen. It’s lonesome and frustrating.
me too. ideally you'd spend a lot of time with someone, observe how they are as a person and gradually learn to trust them but if you wanna brute force it you just have to choose to be vulnerable and be hurt over and over again and statistically you're bound to find some people who won't betray you.
rn I only trust my parents and strangers on the internet so maybe I should take my advice

Never really know what people mean when they say “trust”. Like, what does this actually look like in a relationship? How does the absence of whatever-this-is negatively impacting your life?
