The only reason I got into reading philosophy was to try and cure my homosexual etc thoughts, and it didn't do that. In fact it seems to have made them worse and I wasted an entire decade of my life. Part of me thinks that if I spend a SECOND decade reading philosophy that this time around it might cure the homosexual etc thoughts... but at this point I would do anything to get the thoughts away ohmygod!!! I want to find a priest who does fire and brimstone sermons like the one in Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (which nearly made me become a Catholic, and yet inexplicably I still did not convert). I live in far too little fear, which I think is what allowed (at least my) homosexual etc thoughts to occur. That, and living too close to metamorphosing geography. Priests I find near me seem to be too tolerant of my sins and they aren't eager to describe hell to me in vivid detail. I need to know where I will be going if I don't cure my homosexual etc thoughts, I need to know the dimensions of the place and the ways in which eternity is measured there, how the memory of my life on earth and the sins I committed there will rapidly disintegrate under the experience of trillions of trillions of years of excruciating suffering, how I would clamour to re-experience the very worst moments in this present life as a break from the even worse tortures of hell if I ever re-remembered my life on earth. And maybe if right now I just got jumped and had the shit fucking kicked out of me it would stop the homosexual etc thoughts
Take antidepressants and others pills for depression and OCD. Reducie the libid and the obsesives thoughts
You neglect to mention whether these desires compete with heterosexual desire--do you feel you are purely into men? And are these desires new?
Is your fear of hell founded in some broader masochistic aspect of your personality? While politically incorrect, it is known that for homosexuals who take the 'bottom' role, masochism is often a main factor, rather than an especial attraction to the male form. This is, then, a kind of self-directed sexuality.
Moreover, an obsession over sin can turn into what Aquinas called morose delectation. It seems I can't link it here, but if you type into the search bar on Wikisource 'Summa Theologiae/First Part of the Second Part/Question 74', it's article 6 down the page, "Whether the sin of morose delectation is in the reason?".
>I answer that, As stated (A[5]), sin may be in the reason, not only in respect of reason's proper act, but sometimes in respect of its directing human actions.
>Now it is evident that reason directs not only external acts, but also internal passions.
>Consequently when the reason fails in directing the internal passions, sin is said to be in the reason, as also when it fails in directing external actions.
>Now it fails, in two ways, in directing internal passions: first, when it commands unlawful passions; for instance, when a man deliberately provokes himself to a movement of anger, or of lust: secondly, when it fails to check the unlawful movement of a passion; for instance, when a man, having deliberately considered that a rising movement of passion is inordinate, continues, notwithstanding, to dwell [immoratur] upon it, and fails to drive it away.
>And in this sense the sin of morose delectation is said to be in the reason.

What does the etc in 'homosexual etc' contain?
I get liking femboys and twinks and the like but to be actually unattracted to women is bizarre to me.
Just be gay. Who cares?

>him wanting to suck a 1000 cocks
Considering the target audience of this board I'd say it's on topic and fits
Can we ban this shitposting faggot? It's always the same thread about him wanting to suck a 1000 cocks and then converting to catholicism. Him being a homosexual isn't even the problem at this point. Its just extremely low quality

I am a little intrigued by OP's problem. This is not the first time I have read such a frantic need to disavow one's homosexuality (or maybe he was the same guy posting this on r/redscarepod for years straight). What interests me is that despite not having a religious or moral basis to oppose his homosexuality he still feels deeply bothered by it and wishes to eliminate it. In fact so much so that he has to reach for an ex post facto framework like Catholicism in order to fight his "urges", but it doesn't seem to help much. While it's true that Catholicism opposes homosexuality, that is a rather small, if politicized, part of the whole. The point of the religion is to worship Jesus Christ and follow the Catholic Church, and without that you are left with giant blanks in thought. I think a lot of young people are turning to religion with this train of thought in mind. Previous generations of commenters have already noted this as "buffet-style Christianity" where followers pick and choose freely which parts they care about and which they don't. All religious followers do this to some extent but we can see a much blatant form in examples like OP, or others in his cohort like groypers who attach themselves onto Based Christianity in their fervor against gays/trans/liberals/minorities/what have you.
Something about homosexuality strikes OP as incorrect and off-balance. I wonder if this is down to the unnatural mechanics of homo sex. It could be he is frustrated with the current state of gay culture, especially if he is younger and didn't get to see or experience either the freedom and solidarity of gay rights in the 70s nor the normalization/heterowashing of gay marriage in the 90s and 2000s. He also never once mentions women (or the other aspects of heterosexuality like family and children) in his post or the other one, leading me to believe this is closer to a form of OCD or intrusive thoughts that happen to take on a homosexual character rather than being a question of orientation or gender itself.
Wow, I guess I was on the money then. Could have saved a lot of meandering writing, but hey...
