/r/bartenders is so funny, it's full of people who are vaguely misanthropic in that distinctively reddit way, and also hate everything that drunk people say or do. Which I suppose is fair enough as an opinion to hold, I can understand not liking drunks, but if that's how you feel then why not do one of the 95% of jobs where you don't have to make hours of continual small talk with strangers and don't have to deal with drunk people in your workplace?
I hate bartenders so much man. One scoffed at me for not tipping when I requested a cup of water. You held a plastic cup under a faucet for five literal seconds, why do you want extra money for that?

bartenders should be required to disclose if they discuss their profession on reddit

most people are the same as you, know a few types of drinks / shots, or will just copy what other people are ordering. and the ones who do know what they're talking about tend to be annoying in a whole different way.
I feel insecure about my ignorance of drinks. How tf does everyone seem to know all the different type of cocktails/shots etc? I usually stick to beers and rum and cokes bc I look stupid trying to order anything else lol

this is demonstrated by the fact known to all bartenders that if one person orders, for instance, a bloody mary or a white russian, seven more people will pop out of the woodwork and want the same thing

The journal factory in my town exploded recently so i'll share that one of my favourite memories from when I was in highschool was when I tried to make prison wine underneath my bed and it exploded all over my (white) carpet and I had to clean it all before my parents got home from vacation
